I got this recipe from the restaurant where I work. It's famous in our town for the blend of seasonings, and now the secret is out!
Ingredients
- 3 pounds ground beef
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 2 cups water
- 5 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Directions
- In a large cast-iron skillet or Dutch oven, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles; drain. Add water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until the water is evaporated, about 15 minutes.
