A tangy, vinegar-based sauce that’s a signature of Carolina BBQ, perfect for pulled pork sandwiches or ribs.
Ingredients
- 2 cups distilled white vinegar 2/3 cup ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon white sugar salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Directions
- In a sauce pan, combine vinegar, ketchup, water and sugar. Season with salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved.
