If you've never baked corned beef, now's the time to try! Coating corned beef with Dijon mustard gives it a delicious crust that tastes great served with potatoes and cabbage—or thinly sliced in a Reuben sandwich.
Ingredients
- 1 corned beef brisket with spice packet (about 4 pounds)
- 1/4 cup dijon mustard
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Place corned beef fat-side up on a rack in a roasting pan. Spread mustard over top; sprinkle with contents of spice packet.
- Add 1/2 inch water to pan. Tightly cover pan with foil. Bake until meat is tender, 2 to 3 hours. If necessary, add water during cooking.
- Let stand 10 minutes. Cut diagonally across the grain into thin slices.
