You’ll practice time-honored methods for developing traditional gumbo from making a dark roux to developing the flavors with each layer of ingredients. Test your knife skills while chopping the trinity of bell peppers, onions and celery, then learn how to properly season a true New Orleans dish. While you cook, Chef Ashley shares the story of gumbo and its significance to regional cuisine.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
